The event is approved by Missouri provided the following condition(s) are met:
1. Only the following schools shall participate:
a) member schools of the MSHSAA registered in the particular sport/activity
b) member schools of another state activities/athletic association which is a member of the NFHS
c) member schools of a like-state association which is recognized for competition by another state activities/athletic association which is a member of the NFHS
d) individual schools recognized for competition by another state activities/athletic association which is a member of the NFHS
2. For sports, if awards are offered, symbolic awards are preferred. No service, cash or gift certificate awards. May receive an award of merchandise items (one or more) which together do not exceed a total manufacturer’s suggested retail value of more than $250 is allowed for participants. The total value of all items shall be calculated using the manufacturer’s suggested retail value for each item.
3. The MSHSAA and NFHS do not sanction participation in meets, tournaments, or other contests to qualify for and/or determine a national high school championship.
4. MSHSAA member schools may not compete against non-member schools.
5. Students must be supervised by a faculty member or administrator from each individual MSHSAA school involved.
6. Counts as the one allowable out-of-state tournament or invitational meet per year, per sport/activity which is beyond 250 air miles from the border of the state

Wisconsin schools may only participate against grades 9-12 schools that are state association members.
For basketball, a school may not play in more than two tournaments or in a nonconference tournament consisting of more than eight schools in a bracket. Each game in a tournament counts as one game toward the maximum allowed games.
A student may receive: 1) a medal, cup, trophy or plaque from the sponsoring organization regardless of cost; 2) from schools, mementos not to exceed $200 in total fair market value. Non-school organizations desiring to make contributions toward the purchase of a championship ring/memento must make those contributions to the school; 3) any other award for participation in an athletic contest, or for athletic honors or recognition, which does not exceed $100 in fair market value in the following WIAA recognized sports: baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, hockey, soccer, swimming & diving, tennis, track & field, volleyball and wrestling for boys, and basketball, cross country, golf, gymnastics, hockey, soccer, softball, swimming & diving, tennis, track & field and volleyball for girls; 4) and retain items of apparel which are worn for non-school athletic competition as part of a team uniform provided for and worn by the student during competition.
